“Jobs fill your pockets, but adventure fills your soul”
Jamie Lyn Beatty

I’m a California native, and I love exploring the beautiful state! I have been fortunate enough to live up and down the state. I’ve lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, I’ve loved in the Greater Sacramento area, I’ve lived in the Sierra Nevadas (like 10 miles from the State boarder), and I’ve also lived in the Los Angeles and San Diego area of Southern California.
Having lived throughout the whole state gives me such a unique perspective of the beauty California offers.
Additionally, I have traveled to 16 States, (mainly through road trips). All of this lead to my courage to finally travel internationally. ‘ve traveled throughout a good chunk of the United States, and have traveled overseas to Japan. I’ve lived in California my whole life, spending free time exploring California’s beauty. I’ve made my fair share of travel mistakes.

For my first international trip, I decided that I would really jump off the deep end and travel to Japan. I knew zero Japanese when I went. And my only experience with Japanese culture is what I read and studied through my undergrad degree.
But going to Japan was the best adventure of my life! I struggled, I learned, and I grew as a person. I learned a lot about myself, traveling, and a little part of the world.
Throughout my travels, I have made a lot of mistakes. I’ve made both big and little mistakes in my travels. All of which could have probably been avoided if there had been a decent guide that I could have read ahead of time. But there wasn’t.
This is why I decided to create Pretty Random Travels. To help prevent you from making the same mistakes I have made, I created Pretty Random Travels!
Pretty Random Travels, is a place where you can find guides, reviews, and recommendations to various places around the world based upon my personal expertise.
